Ethnography is a research practice used to gather data about human societies and cultures. it can be done through observation or interview. ethnography is analyzed by looking at its substantive contribution or how much it can contribute in understanding social-life, its aesthetic merit, reflexivity, impact and most importantly how much it reflects reality.
due to the advent of technology, digital ethnography, a new way of gathering data about human societies and cultures have already made its way in the research industry.
Digital Ethnography at its simplest is merely the application of new technologies to the process of ethnography.
despite some question to the accuracy of the results of digital ethnography its advantages outweighs its disadvantages.

BS: First our question is what is your undergraduate course? Miss Tangkeko: I graduated here in La Salle, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
BS: How did you get involved to teach?
MT: How did you get involved to teach? Or why have I decided to teach? Well for one during my time at ITC the executive vice president has been inviting me to transfer to the teaching of faculty staff. I only decided after working for almost 12 years at ITC. Maybe I got burnt out programming analyzing systems that I decided to share what I have learned from working there to the students BS: After several years of teaching, do you enjoy teaching.
MT: yes I do enjoy teaching
BS: and how long have you been teaching
MT: how long have I been teaching? 11 years almost 11 years.
BS: Do you find the teaching pay economically good MT: No!
BS: How much teaching in terms of units do you do in a school year?
MT: In a school year, typically a faculty should. A full time faculty should only handle………36 units in one year but I more often than not am also loaded every term so there an additional 9 units per year
BS: Have you had your personal video before where your teaching was recorded? MT: No
BS: how do you feel about the idea of recording the lecture of teaching delivery?
MT: Beneficial for both me and the student who will be evaluating. For one I can also evaluate my teaching style for the students I do not know. For what area can we learn from the teaching style maybe for IST
BS: we are gonna interview on your teaching strategies
Ramon Arceo: What would you consider as your strengths?
MT: maybe the knowledge that I get from experience
RA: how about your weaknesses? MT: weaknesses, for one I have no formal training in education so I feel that I might not be using the right methodologies and techniques.
RA: Do you think you’re students like you?
MT: I think so too they like me
RA: in what way?
MT: in what way. I do not know maybe because im approachable and considerate. I think I am considerate especially for grades and I do help out students with their project
RA: what do you consider as your best teaching strategy?
MT: teaching strategy? Well for me I still consider the best technique is the to have a hands on in doing exercises rather that having the lecture type. The students …definitely so they can apply what they have learned and then we have to have exercise. So I think having combination of will be the best.
RA: how long have you been doing the strategy?
MT: I think since I started. My first subject is database. So rather than lecturing about how to create a database we have the hands on. Actually during that time it is supposed to be just lecture but I always require my students to have an extra time of laboratory. RA: next set of questions will be on honesty
Vianne Obillo: miss on your 11 years of teaching have you encountered cheating MT: yes many times
VO: what happened can you give an example? MT: for one, during an exam I caught some students cheating and I gave them a grade of 0.0 lucky for them I did not report them to the DO but according to the handbook you automatically get a grade of 0.0 in the course and it will be in the recorded in the 201 of the student. What I did was just gave a grade of zero point zero in that exam.
VO: Miss, what is your view of a cheating student?
MT: a very dishonest student, a very lazy student. My view of such student, why would you cheat? You will not learn when you cheat you are just copying somebody else’s work? What will you gain from that?
Maica Jorge: what is your view on honesty?
MT: as suppose to cheating. If you are honest you can learn from… nawala tuloy ako. Giggle it giggle giggles..if you learn from honest because you will do all the work yourself and you can improve on yourself and people will definitely take you in the group because you’re honest, you would put your weight in the group. Cheating and dishonest are typically the riders in the group eh. Can you expect something from them? Typically students will not get dishonest group mates.
RA: this is about st, la salle. Do you know the life story of st. la salle?
MT: Yes
RA: do you know he is the patron saint of teachers
MT: if I know the life then definitely I would know that
RA: do you follow some of his teaching principles?
MT: as much as possible yes. Because his teaching indicates that you have to help the less privileged student so I do cater into pin pointing who are those who would need more assistance. Thou his aim was to provide education to the poor. Well fortunately I’m with de la sale manila but I do contribute to scholarship fund
RA: so what do you consider instance in teaching that you had
MT: can you elaborate your question?
RA: ay
MT: what do you mean as best teaching?
BS: what is your best experience in teaching or memorable experience?
MT: ohhh ahhhh ok. What would be the most memorable teaching I cannot recall anything well for one. There was an instance I can’t remember now the subject I think its advanced database the student expressed their appreciation in the topic we were discussing. Ayyy its business intelligence ahhh I signify to handle a class for elective business intelligence and part of that course is to provide students some tools that they can use when theire\ designing information system uhmm the students enjoyed all the activities we have conducted in the class. The students are required to study certain business intelligence analytical tools that they studied in class or they can even invite possible speakers so they invite the faculty like uhmm Mr. Borra or what the lecture on..the travelling sales man algorithm so they learned several algorithm which can be applied to any information system and they expressed that they learned a lot from that subject unfortunately it was an elective and its already at the latter part of their degree so tapos na ung the..ma tatapos na ung thesis nila. They expressed that sana it was earlier prior to methods unfortunately iba na yata ung..i think last last year nagbigay ulit ng business intelligence but was not who offered the course. But that was the instance wherein I was happy that I was able to help the students pero they still applied kasi final stage ng thesis nila eh so they changed some of the algorithms yun nga lang sabi nila late.
Question: What is your teaching strategy
MT: It’s a mixture; we have less of the lecture and more of the activities. So uhh the students were tasked to research about the certain tool and they would present it in class and we will have activities regarding the tool.
RA: miss uhh how about the worst?
MT: THE WORST.. the worst.. the worst time would be handling first year ahh because maybe they need transition from high school life to the college life. Definitely when you enter college you are expected to be more mature and if you handle the first year. The first time I handle the first year it was a worst and shocking experience for me because I feel that I am teaching high school literally ang ingay nila and it was hard for those handling the first year to help the students within their transition from a high school life into college life. So it’s part of not just teaching the subject but definitely you have to help the students with that transition dapat hinay hinay. So you have to have a different teaching style. yun ung worst teaching..nag walk out ata ako sa isang subject it is my worst

C. What is your opinion of your subject professor. Make a testimony posting.
We believe that Ms. Tangkeko is a very effective teacher. We really liked her teaching style (e.g. she frequently asks if her students understood the subject matter or if there are any questions, she does hands-on type of teaching, has class activities) and it shows that she really wants her students to learn. We also admire her principles, she contributes to the university scholarship fund, as well as her view on things such as on honesty. Through this experiment, We got to know more about Ms. Tangkeko's views on teaching, her style and her personality even though we never got to experience her being our teacher on a course yet. We believe that any student would be lucky to have her as a professor and we know that students will not only learn the subject matter well but also will gain wonderful experience and knowledge regarding life and the industry from her.
